The Government has tabled the first notification of Natural Resource Fund receipts for 2026 in the National Assembly, outlining petroleum revenues paid into the fund between December 30, 2025 and March 31, 2026.
Senior Minister in the Office of the President with responsibility for Finance, Dr. Ashni Singh, presented the notification in keeping with Section 33(2) of the Natural Resource Fund Act 2021. The notice had already been published in the Official Gazette on April 2, 2026.
The Finance Ministry said the move reflects Government’s continued commitment to transparency and accountability in the management of Guyana’s oil revenues.
It was also disclosed that, at the end of April 2026, the balance in the Natural Resource Fund stood at US$4.1 billion.
The International Monetary Fund, in its Staff Concluding Statement for the 2025 Article IV Mission, commended Guyana for strengthening governance of the fund and improving fiscal transparency.
Among the measures highlighted were the presentation of the 2023 NRF and Public Accountability and Oversight Committee Annual Reports to the National Assembly, the regular publication of revenue notifications in the Official Gazette and Parliament, and the Bank of Guyana’s monthly and quarterly reporting on the fund’s financial performance.
Additionally, the ministry said parliamentary approval has already been granted for US$2.374 billion, equivalent to G$495 billion, to be withdrawn from the fund in 2026 under the amended NRF Act.
The Government said it remains committed to managing Guyana’s oil wealth in a transparent and responsible manner to benefit both present and future generations.
