ExxonMobil Guyana says all personnel aboard the Liza Unity FPSO are safe after heat detectors were activated in the laundry room of the vessel’s living quarters.
According to the company, the detectors indicated a small fire, which was quickly extinguished.
ExxonMobil Guyana said the appropriate response procedures were immediately initiated.
“All personnel aboard the vessel are safe and accounted for,” the company said.
“Operations were suspended as part of our established safety response and will resume following completion of the necessary checks.”
The Liza Unity is one of the floating production, storage and offloading vessels operating offshore Guyana.
