Police have launched a murder investigation after the body of a 42-year-old Linden man was discovered along Chiney Road West, Moblissa, on the Soesdyke-Linden Highway.
Dead is Andries Allicock of Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden. According to the Guyana Police Force (GPF), Allicock’s body was found around 08:30 hrs on Saturday, July 4, 2026.
Preliminary investigations revealed that a resident was walking along Chiney Road West when he observed the man’s body lying motionless in the area. The matter was then reported to police.
Ranks later visited the scene, where the body was examined and injuries were observed. Allicock was removed from the scene and taken to the Linden Hospital Complex, where he was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor.
His body was subsequently escorted to the G-Jetsco Funeral Home, where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination. Police said several persons have since been contacted and questioned as investigators work to determine the circumstances surrounding his death.
Investigations are ongoing.
