Guyana Records Major Increase in Visitor Arrivals for March 2026

Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, Susan Rodrigues, has announced that Guyana recorded a significant increase in visitor arrivals for March 2026, further cementing the country’s position as one of the Caribbean and South America’s fastest-growing tourism destinations.

According to figures released by the ministry, Guyana welcomed 39,484 visitors during the month of March 2026, representing a 13.3 percent increase when compared to the same period in March 2025.

The announcement highlights the continued growth of the tourism sector, driven by increased international interest, expanded business opportunities, eco-tourism development, and major investments across the country.

Minister Rodrigues noted that the steady rise in arrivals reflects growing global confidence in Guyana as a destination for tourism, business, and investment.

“This to us means that our strategy is working, that our tourism and hospitality industry is thriving but more importantly that destination Guyana is a resilient destination,” she said.

Furthermore, she highlighted that there has also been an increase in domestic travellers.

“Our interior lodges are giving us positive responses that they are seeing an increase in international visitors but also from domestic visitors.”

The government has continued to push initiatives aimed at strengthening the tourism industry through infrastructure development, marketing campaigns, and partnerships with regional and international stakeholders.
