Police are investigating an alleged self-harm incident involving a 56-year-old security guard of Coverden, East Bank Demerara (EBD), who was hospitalised on Sunday evening.
According to the Guyana Police Force (GPF), the incident occurred at about 7:30 p.m. while the man was at his home.
Initial investigations revealed that the security guard had returned home when an argument reportedly broke out between him and his wife.
Police said the matter was later reported, and ranks went to the home where they found the man conscious. He was subsequently taken to the Diamond Regional Hospital, where he was admitted and remains under medical care.
Investigations are ongoing.
