A total of 520 families in Region Six have received their Agreements of Sale, marking a major step toward full legal ownership after the Ministry of Housing and Water’s Central Housing and Planning Authority (CH&PA) concluded a two-day housing drive at the Classic Hotel and Suites in Corriverton.

The ministry said the beneficiaries have also begun the process of obtaining their Certificates of Title, which will give families long-term security and the ability to invest more confidently in their homes and futures.

According to the press release, the outcome surpassed the ministry’s target of processing ownership documents for 450 allottees from the No. 75 (Block 2) and No. 76 (Blocks 3 and 4) housing developments.

In a separate outreach component, 241 Berbicians were allocated house lots in the Moleson Creek Housing Scheme, moving them closer to homeownership.

The drive was led by Minister of Housing Collin Croal, Minister within the Ministry Vanessa Benn, and CH&PA Chief Executive Officer Dr. Martin Pertab, who engaged residents during the outreach and addressed concerns raised.

To support beneficiaries, the ministry said it also coordinated on-site services with banking institutions, insurance providers, and Guyana Water Incorporated to help families navigate the homeownership process with additional guidance and resources.
