The We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) party says it is not considering any leadership replacement for its head, Azruddin Mohamed, even as his extradition matter is set to continue in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court in January.

During a press conference on Friday morning, the party’s prime ministerial candidate for the 2025 elections, Tabitha Sarabo-Haley, said the party has held no conversations about replacing him.

“Our leader, while it’s in the courts, we’re waiting to see where that goes. We have had no conversations of anybody else. We have one leader and he remains the leader until such time changes,” Sarabo-Haley said.

She also emphasised that, despite the court battle, the party’s leadership and representatives remain reachable, saying Mohamed, WIN’s regional officials and MPs are “accessible to the people.”

Mohamed, who the United States sanctioned, and his General Secretary Odessa Primus were not present at the engagement. However, Sarabo-Haley indicated that while Mohamed remains a central and visible figure, especially around court dates, the party also wants other parliamentarians to step forward to speak publicly on issues.

The WIN leader is before the court in extradition proceedings alongside his father, Nazar Mohamed, following a request from the United States, where the two are facing charges, including money laundering and other alleged financial offences.
