A Trinidad and Tobago national has been arrested in Guyana after several young women reported that their sex tapes and nude photos were shared online without their consent.
The suspect, Gabriel Harragin, was taken into custody at a local laboratory shortly after four young women reportedly filed formal complaints with the Guyana Police Force regarding cyber-related offences.
Explicit content involving multiple young Guyanese women was posted and circulated on the internet.
However, Harragin has denied uploading the material. He claims his mobile phone was stolen, later compromised, and that the sex tapes and nudes were leaked without his knowledge or permission.
Police have since seized electronic devices as part of the investigation, and a cybercrime probe is ongoing to determine how the files were accessed, stored and distributed.
