Teacher placed on leave amid sexual allegations by students

The Ministry of Education (MoE) was informed on Friday, 13 March 2026, of allegations of a sexual nature made by students of Brickdam Secondary School against a teacher at the institution. In accordance with established standard operating procedures, the accused teacher was immediately placed on administrative leave on the same date.

The Welfare Department of the Department of Education met with one parent on Friday, 13 March 2026, a second parent on Monday, 16 March 2026, and a third parent on Tuesday, 17 March 2026. Each parent was issued a referral letter to the Child Protection Agency, consistent with standard operating procedures.

Each affected student is to undergo a forensic interview to be conducted by Blossom Inc. To date, one such interview has been completed.

The Ministry of Education wishes to state unequivocally that, contrary to certain misleading claims circulating on social media, there has been no delay in the investigative process.
