A motorcyclist died after a late-night collision with a motor car on Amelia’s Ward Public Road, Linden, and police have launched an investigation into the circumstances.

According to the Guyana Police Force (GPF), the accident occurred at about 22:40h on Saturday, and involved motor car PXX 5812, driven by a woman from Central Amelia’s Ward, and motorcycle CP 8031, ridden by Trevor Daniels of Kairuni, Soesdyke-Linden Highway.

Police said preliminary enquiries indicate that Daniels was travelling east along the northern side of the roadway, allegedly at a fast rate, when the motor car reportedly drove out from a northern parking lot onto the public road and collided with the front portion of the motorcycle.

The impact reportedly threw the rider onto the roadway. He was picked up in an unconscious state by public-spirited citizens and rushed to the Linden Hospital Complex, where he was examined and admitted in serious condition.

Despite treatment, Daniels succumbed to his injuries at about 17:30h on Sunday, February 15, 2026, police said.

A breathalyser test administered to the driver of the motor car returned a reading of 0%, and investigations are continuing.
