Autopsy finds 7-year-old Isabella Dabadial was strangled

A post-mortem examination has found that seven-year-old Isabella Dabadial of Fyrish Village, Corentyne, Berbice, died from manual strangulation.

The examination was conducted on Tuesday by Government Pathologist Dr. Vivekanand Brijmohan at Bailey Funeral Home in Number Four Village, West Coast Berbice.

Isabella died on Sunday, April 5. Police had earlier said they were investigating the child’s death as murder after she was found unresponsive and later pronounced dead at the Port Mourant Public Hospital.

The post-mortem has now confirmed that the primary school pupil was strangled.

Following the examination, Isabella’s body was handed over to her relatives for burial. The child’s mother remains in police custody.
