Linden businessman arrested after police find guns, ammo and millions in cash

Law enforcement officers in Region 10 have launched a probe into the discovery of firearms, ammunition and a large quantity of cash during an operation at Redwood Crescent, Mackenzie, Linden, on Wednesday.

According to the Guyana Police Force (GPF), ranks conducted a search at the home of a 30-year-old businessman of Redwood Crescent. While searching a bedroom in the upper flat of the house, police reportedly found a Glock 19 9mm pistol, a Polymer80 9mm pistol, six magazines and a total of 56 9mm rounds hidden beneath the bedroom flooring.

Further searches in the same bedroom uncovered $6,915,000 and US$7,445 in a wardrobe. The 30-year-old businessman was arrested and is in custody. The firearms, ammunition and cash have been lodged as investigations continue.
