A 28-year-old man died after sustaining a neck injury during an altercation at Amelia’s Ward, Linden, on Saturday night.
The Guyana Police Force identified the deceased as Romel Toney, of Kiruni, Soesdyke-Linden Highway.
According to preliminary police information, Toney was involved in an altercation with another man around 9 p.m., during which he suffered the injury. He subsequently died.
Police are treating the incident as an alleged murder. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding Toney’s death are ongoing.
