Police are investigating the discovery of the body of 14-year-old Devanand Balram, called “Whiteboy,” whose remains were found on Wednesday morning along the Dukestown Foreshore at Corriverton, Berbice.
Balram, of No. 60 Village, Corentyne, Berbice, was found at about 07:00hrs on July 15, 2026, after two days of searches following a suspected drowning at the Springlands Foreshore on Sunday, July 13.
According to police, relatives resumed their search at about 06:00hrs on Wednesday and later discovered the teenager’s body in the vicinity of the foreshore.
The body was found lying face down in a crouched position between several rocks. Police said it was clad in boxer shorts and was in an advanced state of decomposition.
The body was examined, but investigators said no detectable marks of violence were observed.
Police said investigations are ongoing.
