Fake guns, handcuffs and police vest found dumped in Garden of Eden

Police have launched an investigation after a cache of suspected air guns, airsoft pistols, handcuffs, and a police vest was discovered dumped at Garden of Eden, East Bank Demerara (EBD).

According to the Guyana Police Force (GPF), the items were found on Friday night between 10:00 p.m. and 10:20 p.m. during an operation.

Police said ranks acted on information received and went to a location at Garden of Eden, where they searched a garbage heap on the southern parapet near a trench.

During the search, officers reportedly found a green duffle bag containing several items, including a Vintage Marksman Repeater .177 calibre BB gun, a BSA 240 Magnum .22 air pistol, a G3 Nightingale airsoft pistol with magazine, and a Brass Eagle Samurai paintball marker gun with tank.

Also found were the lower half of an airsoft pistol frame with a magazine, two pairs of handcuffs, and a bulletproof vest. The items were taken to the Grove Police Station, where they were lodged pending further investigation.

Police said no arrests have been made so far, and investigations are continuing.
