An inquest will be held into the death of Adriana Younge, the child whose body was found at the Double Day Hotel in Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo (EBE), last year.
The Guyana Police Force (GPF) on Wednesday said the directive came from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), who advised that an inquest be conducted into both the cause of Younge’s death and the circumstances surrounding it.
According to police, the death occurred between April 23 and 24, 2025, at Tuschen.
Adriana was reported missing on the evening of April 23. Her disappearance sparked a widespread search effort and intense public concern.
The following morning, her lifeless body was discovered in the hotel’s pool, despite previous checks reportedly having been made. The discovery fuelled national outrage, with citizens demanding answers and transparency regarding the timeline of events and the apparent lapses in the initial search.
