A cattle theft probe at Bachelor’s Adventure, East Coast Demerara (ECD), has led to the arrest of one man after two heifers vanished from a pasture.
According to the Guyana Police Force (GPF), the alleged larceny of cattle and possession of carcass occurred between about 17:30hrs on Saturday, March 14, 2026, and 06:00hrs on Monday, March 16, 2026, and involved a 61-year-old farmer of Melanie Railway Embankment.
According to preliminary investigations, the farmer had left his two heifers grazing at a pasture in Bachelor’s Adventure. However, when he later returned, the animals were missing.
Further enquiries by police led to a location at Factory Road, Paradise, where a 44-year-old man was arrested in connection with the matter.
During the operation, police recovered beef and skin, which were taken and lodged for investigation. Police have also since recovered one of the missing animals alive. Investigations are ongoing.
