Police are searching for a suspect after a 32-year-old fisherman was allegedly stabbed multiple times during a confrontation with his nephew at River View Sea Dam, Ruimveldt, Georgetown, on Friday.
According to police investigations, the victim and the suspect, who both reside at the same address, were standing in the yard at about 18:35 hrs when an argument erupted between them.
During the altercation, the suspect allegedly armed himself with a sharp object, held the fisherman from behind, and inflicted several stab wounds on his body.
After carrying out the attack, the suspect reportedly fled the scene in an unknown direction.
The injured man was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital, where he was examined by a doctor on duty and admitted in a stable condition.
Police said efforts are underway to locate and arrest the suspect.
