The woman accused of killing her seven-year-old daughter at Fyrish, Corentyne, has been discharged from the hospital and taken into police custody as investigators step up their probe into the child’s death.
Sarah Elizabeth Shivpersaud, 26, was released from the Port Mourant Public Hospital on Thursday and subsequently escorted by police as the investigation entered a new phase.
As part of the ongoing probe, investigators also took Shivpersaud back to the Fyrish scene, where they are continuing efforts to reconstruct the events surrounding the death of her daughter, Isabella Dabadial.
Sources said detectives are still collecting statements and verifying key details as they work toward completing the investigation.
Charges could be laid as early as Friday. Shivpersaud is accused of killing Isabella at their home at Fyrish Road, Corentyne, on Sunday, April 5, at around 11:30 a.m.
Police had previously said the seven-year-old was found unresponsive and was later pronounced dead.
