The Guyana Police Force (GPF) has identified 27-year-old Matthew Ramlichan, a pork-knocker formerly of the Soesdyke–Linden Highway, as the man who was fatally stabbed during the incident at Barakat Landing, Cuyuni River, on Sunday.

Police said Ramlichan’s body is at the Bartica Regional Hospital Mortuary, awaiting transport to the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home for a post-mortem examination.

The injured brother has been identified as 39-year-old Tyrone Ramlichan, also a pork-knocker of the Soesdyke–Linden Highway. The GPF said his condition is stable.

In an earlier report, investigators said the brothers became involved in a heated altercation with another man at the landing. During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly armed himself with a pair of scissors and stabbed both men several times about their bodies.

The suspect reportedly fled the scene and remains at large, as police continue their search and investigations.
