A stabbing incident at Barakat Landing, Cuyuni River, has left one brother dead and the other critically injured, with police now searching for the suspect.
In a statement, the Guyana Police Force (GPF) said the incident occurred on Sunday evening and involved two brothers who work as pork knockers in the area.
Investigators said the brothers became embroiled in a heated altercation with another male at the landing. During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly armed himself with a pair of scissors and stabbed both men several times about their bodies.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene immediately after the attack and remains at large. Police said efforts are ongoing to apprehend him as investigations continue.
