A 30-year-old barber from Pomona Housing Scheme on the Essequibo Coast has been remanded to prison after being charged with using a computer system to incite persons to commit a terrorist act.
The accused, Albert Ramnauth, of Lot 170 Pomona Housing Scheme, appeared before Magistrate Ravindra Mohabir at the Charity Magistrate’s Court, where the charge of “using a computer system to incite persons to commit a terrorist act” was read to him.
Ramnauth was not required to plead, since the matter is an indictable offence, and he was subsequently remanded to prison.
The charge stems from an alleged Facebook comment made on November 7, 2025, in which Ramnauth is accused of writing: “Bomb the Police Headquarters Next”, purportedly with the intent to incite persons to commit a terrorist act against public justice. The case has been adjourned to November 27, 2025.
