A 25-year-old man from the Essequibo Coast has been arrested and charged with rape of a child under 16 years, which allegedly occurred in late 2023.
The accused, Frank Satrohan, was charged contrary to Section 10(3) of the Sexual Offences Act, Chapter 8:03. According to the charge, Satrohan is accused of committing the offence sometime between November 5 and November 10, 2023, and again during the month of December 2023.
Satrohan appeared at the Anna Regina Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Teriq Mohamed, where the charge was read to him. He was not required to plead.
He was granted $200,000 bail, and the case was adjourned to February 24, 2026.
