Bamia bus driver fatally shot during early-morning shooting

Police are probing a deadly shooting along the Soesdyke-Linden Highway after a 47-year-old bus driver and poultry farmer was found motionless inside a zinc-structure house at Bamia early Tuesday morning.

The Guyana Police Force (GPF) said the incident occurred at about 02:30h on Tuesday and resulted in the death of Dion Shawn Ramdyhan, a resident of Bamia.

According to law enforcement officials, Ramdyhan was inside a small zinc-structure house when loud explosions were reportedly heard. He was later discovered motionless inside the building.

Police said no arrests have been made so far, and investigators are continuing the probe.
