Budget 2026, which is expected to be presented early next year, will include funding for a $100,000 cash grant to every Guyanese aged 18 and above.

President Dr. Irfaan Ali made this disclosure on Wednesday as he outlined the government’s economic and social policy agenda for the next five years at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre (ACCC).

“Budget 2026 will make provision for a cash grant of $100,000 to be paid to every citizen in Guyana who is 18 years of age and older,” the President told the gathering.

The Head of State said the payout is part of a longer-term programme of public assistance, indicating that additional payments are also planned beyond the first distribution.

He added, “Other cash grants will be paid during the course of the next five years.”

In 2024, President Ali announced a $100,000 cash grant for every citizen aged 18 and above. The $100,000 payout injected $60 billion into the economy.
