Cannabis found in cargo at the Eugene F. Correia International Airport, Ogle, has triggered a police investigation after ranks discovered the drugs concealed in a bag destined for Chi Chi Village, Region Seven, on Wednesday.
According to the Guyana Police Force (GPF), around 11:25 hrs searches were conducted on cargo at an airways facility at the airport when ranks found thirteen small zip-lock bags containing leaves, seeds and stems suspected to be cannabis.
The bags were hidden inside four packets of White Oats placed in a bag booked for Chi Chi Village. The suspected cannabis was taken to the GPF Narcotics Branch, where it was weighed and amounted to 60 grams, before being lodged. No arrests have been made, and investigations are ongoing.
