Three masked men armed with a handgun, a baseball bat and a cutlass robbed a businessman at his beverage depot in No. 2 Village, East Canje, Berbice, on Saturday evening, police said.
The 57-year-old businessman was in the cashier area of the depot, located on the lower floor of his premises, when the men entered around 7:35 p.m.
According to preliminary police investigations, the suspects confronted him and demanded money before taking an undisclosed sum of cash.
The men then fled in a dark-grey motor car. No shots were fired, and no injuries were reported during the robbery.
Police have obtained CCTV footage and are reviewing it as part of their investigation. Investigations are continuing.
