A 29-year-old Police Corporal was found dead at his Corentyne home on Thursday evening, and detectives in Regional Division Six are investigating the matter as a suspected suicide.
Dead is Corporal Javier Adrian of Kildonan Village, Corentyne, Berbice.
The Guyana Police Force (GPF) said the incident occurred at about 18:45hrs on Thursday, at Adrian’s residence. According to preliminary investigations, Adrian was found unresponsive on the upper flat of the building.
Police ranks, along with a Crime Scene Technician, visited the location and processed the scene. The GPF said Adrian’s body was examined and no marks of violence were observed.
He was taken to the Port Mourant Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival by a doctor. The body is at Ramoo’s Funeral Parlour awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Police said investigations are ongoing.
