A 33-year-old businessman was found motionless shortly after a loud explosion was heard near a shop at Mowasie Landing, Region Eight, on Thursday.
Dead is Godfrey Gill, also known as “Chucky,” of Mowasie Backdam. The Guyana Police Force (GPF) said Gill was in the vicinity of a shop at Mowasie Landing when the loud explosion was reportedly heard.
He was later discovered lying motionless on the ground. An alarm was raised and the matter was reported to police. Police ranks are en route to the location to conduct further investigations. No arrest has been made at this time.
