Police in Region Eight are probing the discovery of 655 grams of marijuana found during an operation at School Street, Mahdia, Region Eight, on Monday.
According to the Guyana Police Force (GPF), the discovery was made between 09:45 hrs and 11:50 hrs as ranks carried out searches in the area.
During the exercise, police found a black plastic bag in a nearby bush. The bag contained several transparent plastic bags, with small ziplock bags inside, each containing leaves, seeds, and stems of marijuana.
The narcotics were taken to the Mahdia Police Station, where they were weighed and amounted to 655 grams before being lodged. No arrests have been made, and investigations are continuing.
